Cinema Makeup School is a post-secondary education institution. Admission requires a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a General Educational Development Test (GED). Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of their program.
CMS programs do not require students to have any previous experience; however, some of our advanced courses have prerequisites if they are taken individually. A background in cosmetology, art, theater, or related fields is helpful, but not necessary.
All applicants must fill out an Domestic Enrollment Application and submit a non-refundable, $200 registration fee. Once the applicant has been accepted, they will be contacted by an admissions officer to arrange a start date, tuition payment, and the optional purchase of materials.
To Secure Your Seat, you will need to provide a $1000 deposit, which will be put towards the total tuition costs. If you submit the $1000 deposit at the same time as your enrollment application, the $200 registration fee will be waived.

Initial $200 enrollment fee as well as $210 I-20 processing fee is required when you are completing the International Enrollment Application.
CMS is authorized under US federal law to issue I-20 forms for students with M-1 student visas. The I-20 documentation provided by CMS is only valid for student visas and does not authorize the student for external work experience. The I-20 form will only be valid for the time period in which the student is enrolled and attending classes at CMS.
An M-1 visa is an educational visa issued to students who wish to enter the United States in order to attend a vocational or technical school. The M-1 visas are issued for the duration of the student’s program at CMS and are only valid for a maximum of 30 days before the student's start date and 30 days post graduation.

Upon entering the United States, the student will need to furnish both their passport and I-20 documentation with the appropriate stamps to U.S. Customs. The Customs officer will issue the student an I-94 card, stapled to a page of their passport. After clearing customs, the student must report to CMS no more than 10 days after arrival or he or she will risk having potential problems with their visa status.
To access our campus, enter through the Wiltern Building Offices entrance located on Wilshire Boulevard between the Wiltern Theater entrance and the AT&T store. Our entrance is on the second floor, Suite 202, directly across from the elevators or to your immediate left from the stairwell.
Please note: do not use the entrance below the Cinema Makeup School sign on Western Avenue as this is the entrance to our Makeup Store.
